MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 99 2021 <br />and has proven to be very competent with the GIS system and other technology. He will be <br />enrolling in the Public Works Certificate program in the fall to further his education. <br />Torkelson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2021-6-77 — APPRO VE THE HIRE OF ALEX E VENSON AS <br />PUBLIC WORKS UTILITIES SUPERVISOR WITH START DATE OF JUNE 16, <br />2021 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />COUNCIL REPORTS <br />Fischer stated that he and the Mayor serve on the Little Canada Fire Department Relief Association <br />which oversees the investment of their retirement funds, and the Fire Department Long Range <br />Planning Committee, and he gave an update on the last couple of meetings. He stated the Fire <br />Department will be working on the purchase of a new ladder truck over the next couple of years. <br />McGraw stated he is on the Board of NineNorth, which used to be called CTV, and their current <br />Executive Director is very forward thinking and always looking to better their business. He stated <br />that he is new on the board and has only attended two meetings so far. <br />Keis stated that he was invited to participate in an environmental forum put on by the League of <br />Women Voters, and it was very interesting to see what other cities are doing to be greener. He <br />recommended that Council members review the recently adopted Climate Adaptation Plan from the <br />City of Maplewood as a good example. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:59 p.m. <br />�1 <br />John eis, Ma or <br />Attest: <br />Christop er Hein an, City Administrator <br />3 <br />
