<br />Little Canada Equipment Status <br /> <br />System Last Updated: October 2019 <br /> <br />Approximate Cost: $189,000 <br /> <br />Integration: Alpha Video <br /> <br />Background <br />In 2015 CTV worked with the city and Alpha Video to upgraded the entire production <br />system including new cameras, production switcher, audio mixing DSP, racks and <br />recording devices. Generally that equipment is in good conditioning functioning well. <br />The cameras are still a current model and are what CTV has been installing in the other <br />cities. Many of the other component are similar to the cameras, in that they are current <br />models and items installed in other cities. A number of areas however have been <br />identified to update and change. After discussion with city staff, we have identified a <br />number of areas listed below to consider working on. <br /> <br />Project Goals <br /> ✓ Provide enhancements to presentation system <br /> ⁃ individually viewable presentation monitors at dais <br /> ⁃ Allow wireless contribution <br /> ⁃ Add control panels) on dais <br /> ✓ Move rack in control room to provide for better visibility for operator <br /> ✓ Generally update and simplify equipment design and operation <br /> ✓ Replace Windows 7 based production switcher (Note: Windows 7 is <br />unsupported after January 2020) <br /> <br />System Overview <br />The production system, including switcher, cameras and terminal gear are all capable of <br />HD resolutions. Estimated remaining lifespan for the majority of the equipment is 7-12 <br />years with the exception of the switcher which should be replaced soon. <br /> <br />The audio system uses a Digital Signal Processor (DSP,) similar to but a different model <br />from the other cities. Estimated remaining lifespan - 7-12 years. <br /> <br />The presentation system has inputs on each side of the dais. From there it is sent to <br />the production system where it is input into the production system and then distributed <br />to a TV and projector in the chambers.
