14 <br />3200.130. NO WARRANTY BY CITY. <br />By enacting and undertaking to enforce this Ordinance, neither the City nor its Council, agents or <br />employees warrant or guarantee the safety, fitness or suitability or any Rental <br />Dwelling or Rental Dwelling Unit in the City. Owners and occupants should take appropriate <br />steps to protect their interests, health, safety and welfare. <br /> <br />3200.140. SEVERABILITY: If any provision of this Chapter is for any reason held to be <br />invalid; such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this Chapter. <br /> <br />3200.200. INSPECTOR’S LICENSES. No person, partnership or business entity shall <br />conduct or perform an inspection under this Chapter within the city without a license. Licenses <br />shall be issued for a term of one year, and may be renewed each year by the license holder with <br />payment of the annual license fee and subject to the terms and conditions stated below. <br /> <br />3200.210. APPLICATION. An application for a license shall be made on a form <br />provided by the city. The license application shall include: <br />a. The applicant’s name, address and place of employment; <br />b. The applicant’s education as it relates to the licensed activity, including the dates <br />and names of schools attended and the degrees or certifications received; <br />c. Any certifications that the applicant has in other cities or agencies who have similar <br />licensed activities; <br />d. A complete list of cities or other agencies with whom the applicant has been <br />licensed; <br />e. The applicant’s chronology of employment as it relates to the licensed activity, <br />including duties and type of work performed; <br />f. Proof that the applicant has a valid certificate of competency from the city of <br />Minneapolis or the City of Saint Paul; <br />g. A statement that the applicant has read the Little Canada Rental Housing Evaluation <br />Guidelines, including the Code of Ethics for Rental Housing Evaluators, agrees to <br />abide by all terms; <br />h. Payment of the prescribed license fee. Unless otherwise specifically or expressly <br />provided, the amount of fees due the city for the licensed activities described in this <br />chapter shall be set from time to time by the City Council, and a schedule of such <br />fees shall be on file and available for inspection by the public. <br />i. Proof of insurance providing coverage to the applicant in the sum of at least: 1) <br />$500,000.00 against liability imposed by law on account of negligent bodily injury, <br />death or property damage; 2) at least $500,000.00 against any liability imposed by <br />law on account of bodily injury, death or property damage of one or more persons <br />in any one accident resulting from conditions which should have been disclosed in <br />an inspector’s report but were omitted due to negligence in the inspection or <br />completion of the report; and 3) at least $1,000,000.00 in annual aggregate <br />coverage. The applicant’s insurance must remain in force continuously for as long <br />as the applicant holds a city inspection license. The City of Little Canada must be <br />included as an additional named insured on the insurance required hereunder at the <br />expense of the applicant.
