Resolution adopted. <br />APPROVE 2022 RAMSEY COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT CONTRACT FOR <br />POLICING SERVICES <br />The City Administrator stated this contract is for a one-year time period and other options will <br />continue to be explored. He noted that the increase was less than expected due to a change in the <br />ration formula for the seven contract cities. <br />The City Administrator stated there is also a letter included that Council can opt to support. He <br />explained that Ramsey County Sheriff's Department took over the policing of the Minnesota State <br />Fair in 2021, but the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners decided not to continue that contract. <br />He explained that if the Sheriff s Department continues policing the State Fair, it makes Falcon <br />Heights be connected contiguously to the other contract cities that the Sheriffs Department patrols. <br />He stated that if the County does not continue with the State Fair, Falcon Heights will be seriously <br />considering other options. <br />Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021-12-143 — APPROVE THE 2022 CONTRACT WITH RAMSEY <br />CO LINTY SHERIFF'S DEPAR TMENT FOR POLICING SER VICES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). Resolution adopted. <br />Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2021-12-144 — A UTHORIZE THE MA YOR TO SIGN THE <br />LETTER TO THE RAMSEY COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FROM THE <br />CONTRACT CITIES REGARDING MINNESOTA STATE FAIR LA W <br />ENFORCEMENT SERVICES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. <br />Ayes (4). Nays (1). Torkelson. Resolution adopted. <br />RONDEAU PARK PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT <br />The Parks & Rec/Community Services Director stated that Council gave director to proceed with <br />the planning of improvements at Rondeau Park, including a new playground. He stated that due to <br />supply -chain issues and the expected price increases, staff first worked with three playground <br />vendors to get different concept designs for playground equipment.
