CITY OF LITTLE CANADA RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION 2020-8-100 RESOLUTION CHANGING THE POLLING PLACE OF LITTLE CANADA PRECINT 1 FOR THE NOVEMBER 3, 2020 GENERAL ELECTION WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes 204B.16, subd. 1 requires the City Council, by ordinance or resolution, to designate polling places for the upcoming year; and; WHEREAS, on February 26, 2020, the Little Canada City Council designated Little Canada Elementary School as the polling place to serve all territory in Little Canada Precinct 1 located in the City of Little Canada, Ramsey County, Minnesota due to the regular Precinct 1 polling place of Roseville Area Middle School being under during construction on August 11, 2020; and, WHEREAS, Roseville Area Middle School will be available to serve as a polling place and Little Canada Elementary School will not be available for use by Precinct 1 voters on November 3, 2020 during the General Election; and, WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute Section 204B.16 allows changes to the polling places locations before the next election if one or more of the authorized polling places becomes unavailable for use; and; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Little Canada City Council hereby changes the Precinct 1 polling place beginning on November 3, 2020 from Little Canada Elementary School, 400 Eli Road, Little Canada, Minnesota to Roseville Area Middle School, 15 County Road B2 East, Little Canada, Minnesota. AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that pursuant to Minnesota Statute Section 204B.16, subd. 1a, the governing body shall send a notice of change in this polling place location to each affected household with at least one registered voter in the precinct. The notice should be sent at least 25 days before the next election by non-forwardable mail stating the location of the new polling place.
