Tierney’s Liquor Store: Tierney’s Liquor Store has been impacted by lower business throughout the
pandemic. In addition, the business has had additional hardship as they had no other choice but move
buildings during this time frame because the building owner had decided to double the rent and was
requiring a 7-year renewal contract. According to May Lee Vang, the building owner would not fix
anything in the building and required the business to complete all repairs and upgrades. If awarded,
they would use the grant funds for lease and utility payments.

RECOMMENDED ACTION
The City Council is asked to review and discuss the applications and determine if all applicants should
be funded at the full requested amount. There is sufficient funding to award all applications if desired.
Following discussion, staff recommends a motion to approve grant awards from the City of Little
Canada’s CARES Act funds.
