<br /> <br /> <br />STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Keis and Members of the City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Heidi Heller, City Clerk/HR Manager <br /> <br /> DATE: January 26, 2022 <br /> <br />RE: Ordinance No. 860 – Ordinance Amending Chapter 803, Used Car Sales, of the <br />Little Canada City Code <br /> <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Consider approval of Ordinance 860, an Ordinance Amending Chapter 803, Used Car Sales, of <br />the Little Canada City Code. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />Certain types of business licenses in Little Canada are limited on the number that can be issued at <br />a time, and most note this information in the licensing chapter for that specific type of business. <br />This was not the case for auto sales licenses. The zoning code contained the language that limited <br />the number auto sales licenses that can be issued at a time in the specific zoning districts, but the <br />recent zoning code update removed this detail. Staff feels it is important to continue to limit the <br />number of auto sales licenses, and determined that it makes more sense for this information to be <br />in the licensing chapter of the city code rather than the zoning code. <br /> <br />The same number of licenses (two or three) and in the same type of zoning districts (B-2, B-4 and <br />I-1) as previously allowed are proposed in this ordinance. Ordinance 860 allows auto sales <br />licenses to be issued to businesses in the new C-1, General Commercial, and I-1, Light Industrial <br />zoning districts. The zoning map has not yet been updated to reflect the new zoning district titles, <br />but these two proposed zoning districts are compatible with the Planned Land Use Map in the <br />2040 Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Ordinance 860 has been drafted to add Section 803.015.
