CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />RAMSEY COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />ORDINANCE NO. 855 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING LITTLE CANADA CITY CODE CHAPTER 2204, <br />EXCLUSION ZONES AND PROHIBITION OF CERTAIN EMPLOYMENT-RELATED <br />ACTIVITIES <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Little Canada, Ramsey County, Minnesota does hereby ordain: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Little Canada hereby amends Chapter 2204 of the <br />Little Canada Municipal Code by adding the underlined material and deleting the stricken <br />material as follows: <br /> <br />2204. EXCLUSION ZONES AND PROHIBITION <br />OF CERTAIN EMPLOYMENT-RELATED ACTIVITIES PREDATORY OFFENDERS <br /> <br />2204.010: PURPOSE: The City of Little Canada considers the safety of its residents, its children <br />in particular, to be of critical importance and the potential threat of designated predatory <br />offenders in close proximity to them to be an unacceptable risk. This chapter is intended to <br />exclude sex offenders and predators from locations throughout the City of Little Canada to help <br />protect the welfare and safety of the residents and reduce the risk presented by the presence of <br />predatory offenders in close proximity to the public, children in particular, in areas that the City <br />has control over. <br /> <br />2204.020: DEFINITIONS: <br /> <br />a. Predatory Designated offender: A person who is required to register as a predatory <br />offender under Minn. Stat. ₴243.166. Any person who has been convicted, <br />adjudicated delinquent, or convicted as an extended jurisdiction juvenile of an <br />offense identified in Minn. Stat. ₴243.166, Subd. 1b, or a similar offense under the <br />laws of another state, requiring the offender to register with the state department of <br />corrections and who has been assigned as a Risk Level III predatory offender, <br />pursuant to Minn. Stat. ₴244.052, or any person who otherwise is required to register <br />with the state department of corrections and been assigned as a Risk Level III <br />predatory offender. <br /> <br />b. Licensed child care facility. A group child care center located in Little Canada that <br />is currently licensed by Ramsey County or the State of Minnesota. <br /> <br />c. Permanent residence. A place where a person abides, lodges or resides for 14 or <br />more consecutive days. <br />
