CITY OF LITTLE CANADA - PARK SYSTEM MASTER PLAN81 <br />Rondeau Park <br />BRIDGETRAIL <br />POND <br />RAINGARDENPLAYGROUND <br />BASKETBALL COURT <br />ADDRESS <br />Jackson Street north of Little Canada Road <br />PARK SIZE <br />3 acres <br />PARK CLASSIFICATION <br />Neighborhood Park <br />OVERVIEW <br />Rondeau Park is a recent addition to the park system <br />and was added at about the same time as the adjacent <br />townhome development. <br />FACILITIES/EQUIPMENT <br />• Basketball (Half Court) <br />• Benches (6) <br />• Drinking Fountain <br />TRAIL CONNECTIONS <br />Existing sidewalk on Jackson Street connects to Water Works <br />Right of Way to the north and sidewalk on Little Canada <br />Road to the south. <br />NATURAL RESOURCES <br />While the majority of the park is open lawn, there are many <br />mature trees on the north side of the park, a naturalized <br />stormwater pond, and a raingarden and swale vegetated <br />with native plants. <br />ISSUES/OPPORTUNITIES <br />1. Continue to plant trees and shrubs within the park to <br />create habitat and visual interest. <br />2. Volunteer park clean-up events to remove trash and litter <br />around the pond. <br />3. The playground is in good condition; continue to <br />maintain and update in asset management system. <br />4. Consider the addition of picnic facilities, including a <br />small picnic shelter, picnic tables, and a barbeque grill. <br />5. Plant edibles such as different varieties of raspberries, <br />mulberries, apples, etc. <br />6. Work with nearby housing complex to implement <br />occasional programming in the park to instill a sense of <br />pride and ownership in the park, such as fruit harvesting <br />or clean-up events. <br />7.
