<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />MAYOR <br />John Keis <br /> <br />COUNCIL <br />Michael McGraw <br />Tom Fischer <br />Christian Torkelson <br />Teresa Miller <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Jim Schwalbach Day <br />October 22, 2021 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Little Canada acknowledges the exceptional service Jim Schwalbach has <br />provided for 45 years to Little Canada residents; and <br />WHEREAS, Jim Schwalbach owned a hardware store on Rice Street for 45 years, and was a highly <br />respected boss and friend to many employees. He moved his North Heights Hardware Hank store <br />to Little Canada in 2009, and became an important member of the Little Canada business <br />community; and, <br />WHEREAS, Jim Schwalbach contributed significantly to the well-being of the area’s churches, <br />schools, sports and community gardens with both his time and resources; and <br />WHEREAS, Jim Schwalbach supported the Little Canada Canadian Days <br />festival by selling buttons at his store, sponsoring the medallion hunt and <br />serving as Grand Marshal of the “Fixin’ to Have Fun” Canadian Days Parade <br />in 2010; and, <br />WHEREAS, the year 2021 marks the retirement of Jim Schwalbach; and, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, on behalf of the City Council, City Staff and all citizens of Little Canada, I, <br />Mayor John T. Keis, do hereby proclaim October 22, 2021 as <br />“Jim Schwalbach Day” <br />and congratulate Jim on his successful career and wish him a happy retirement. <br />Given under my hand and seal of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, this 13th day of October, <br />2021. <br /> <br /> <br />______________________________ <br /> John T.
