Staff <br />Report <br />TO:Mayor Keis and Members of City Council <br />FROM:Heidi Heller, City Clerk <br />DATE:December 15, 2021 <br />RE:Public Hearing for 2022 Pawn Brokers & Second-Hand Goods Dealers Licenses <br />ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED: <br />Approve a Pawn Brokers License and Second-Hand Goods Dealers Licenses for Lincoln Pawn & <br />Jewelry, Christian Life Ministries, Joe’s Sporting Goods, Quality Furniture and Three Stars <br />Sportscards for the period January 1 – December 31, 2022. <br />Pawn Brokers License: <br />Lincoln Pawn & Jewelry - 2750 Rice Street <br />Second-Hand Goods Dealers Licenses <br />Lincoln Pawn & Jewelry - 2750 Rice Street <br />Christian Life Ministries/New Day Mission Wearhouse Thrift Store – 2756 Lake Shore Ave <br />Joe’s Sporting Goods - 33 County Road B East <br />Quality Furniture – 2900 Rice Street <br />Three Stars Sportscards – 2682 Rice Street <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The above-referenced businesses have made application for renewal of their licenses for January 1, <br />2022 through December 31, 2022. Application materials are available for your review upon request. <br />Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department provided the calls for service at these businesses for the past <br />year and staff has no concerns relative to the renewal of the licenses, and satisfactory background <br />checks for all applicants have been received from the Sheriff’s Department. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />City staff recommends approval of the Pawn Broker and Second-Hand Goods Dealer licenses as <br />presented.
