<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Keis and Members of the City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Heidi Heller, City Clerk/HR Manager <br /> <br />DATE: December 15, 2021 <br /> <br />RE: Ordinance 858, Fee Schedule Amendments <br /> <br /> <br />ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED: <br />Adopt Ordinance 858, Amending the Little Canada Fee Schedule. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />Water and Sewer Rates <br />A utility rate study was completed in 2020. This study concluded that 3% to 4% water and sewer <br />rate increases would be needed each year to fund current operations and identified capital <br />improvements until 2034. It is proposed to increase the water rates between 2.9% and 4.2%, and <br />the sewer rates between 2.5% and 3%. The rate increases shown below include an approximate 4% <br />increase for water and 3% increase for sewer. <br /> <br />Utilities <br />SEWER & WATER RATES <br />Lawn Sprinkler Water Rate $3.70 $3.85/1,000 gallons <br />Sewer Rate Sewer Base Fee (included in minimum) $15.60 $16.05 <br />Commercial – <br />$4.05 $4.15/1,000 gallons with a $45.40 $46.75 minimum for the <br />first 7,000 gallons. <br />Multi-Family Residential (8 units +) <br />$4.05 $4.15/1,000 gallons with a $45.40 $46.75 minimum for the <br />first 7,000 gallons. Charged on a per dwelling unit basis. <br />Residential – <br />$4.05 $4.15/1,000 gallons with a $45.40 $46.75 minimum for the <br />first 7,000 gallons. <br />Rate is based on first quarter usage. If water usage drops below <br />first quarter water usage in subsequent quarters, the sewer rate will <br />be adjusted to the lower rate, but never lower than the $43.64 <br />$46.75 minimum. The first quarter sewer rate is the ceiling for the <br />year. <br />Charged on a per dwelling unit basis. <br />Sewer Only <br /> <br />$52.00 $53.50 Private Wells <br />$64.20 $66.15 On City System but no meter readings <br />$64.20 $66.15 per unit for manufactured homes with no meter <br />reading
