He stated that a final report should be shared with the <br />group in mid-December. <br /> <br />The Commission expressed excitement that this continues to move forward. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: BIKE RACKS <br />The Community Services Manager stated that the Commission has been talking about this issue <br />for some time and is a reoccurring topic. He stated that he attended a national conference that <br />focused on accessibility and different modes of transportation. He stated that many cities <br />comment that the bike racks are great, but they have incorporated them in a different way, such <br />as art, rather than a traditional bike rack. He suggested a two- or three-member subcommittee <br />that could review options for different park locations, potential costs, and what would be <br />accomplished by adding these features to the parks. <br /> <br />Commissioner Abruzzese volunteered. <br /> <br />Chair Miller stated that this would create a master plan and implementation could begin on a <br />park by park basis. <br /> <br />Commissioners Schletty and Horwath also volunteered. <br /> <br /> Miller introduced the following motion: <br /> <br />APPOINTING COMMISSIONERS ABRUZZESE, SCHLETTY, AND HORWATH <br />TO FORM A BIKE RACK SUBCOMMITTEE. <br /> <br /> The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Chu. <br /> Ayes (7). Nays (0). Motion passed. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS: PARKS AND RECREATION CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PLAN <br />(CIP) <br />The Community Services Manager stated that the Commission briefly touched on the Capital <br />Improvement Plan (CIP) at the last meeting with direction to bring it back to this meeting. He <br />stated that the 2021 through 2025 projects have been included in the report along with staff <br />worksheets. He highlighted the projects planned for 2021 along with some of the projects <br />planned for upcoming years. <br /> <br />Chair Miller commented that it is important to have a road map as it takes a lot of time to <br />complete larger projects and this helps to find projects that can be completed at the same time. <br /> <br />Commissioner Abruzzese asked if bike racks should be added to the CIP. <br />
