MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br /> <br />DECEMBER 2, 2021 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was convened on the 2nd day of December, 2021 in the Council Chambers of the City <br />Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br /> <br />Chair Dave Miller called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Parks & Recreation Commission were present at roll call: <br /> <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION: Hipp, Miller, Ray, Schletty, Chu, and <br />Abruzzese. <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Parks & Rec/Community Services Director Bryce Shearen and Recreation <br />Coordinator Sierra Hietala. <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />Commissioner Ray made a motion to approve the November 4, 2021, Parks & Recreation <br />Commission minutes as submitted. Commissioner Hipp seconded the motion. The motion was <br />unanimously approved. <br /> <br />PARKS AND RECREATION MISSION STATEMENT <br />Commissioner Ray read the Parks and Recreation mission statement. <br /> <br />THANK YOU COMMISSIONER RAY <br />Chair Miller thanked Commissioner Ray for his time on the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />over the past six years. He stated that Ray has been a valuable member of the Commission and <br />appreciated everything he has contributed. <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS: RONDEAU PARK UPDATE <br />The Parks & Recreation Director provided an update on the park improvement project. <br /> <br />Commissioner Chu stated that she is happy this park is being updated. She stated that the <br />basketball court is well used by older children and asked if that will be improved. <br /> <br />The Parks & Recreation Director confirmed that there will be grading to improve the drainage <br />issues and the court will be resurfaced. <br /> <br />Chair Miller commented that this is a good example of the Master Plan at work and community <br />engagement. <br /> <br />Commissioner Chu stated that many of her neighbors use that park, and she would like to be able <br />to communicate updates.
