MINUTES <br />PARKS & REC COMMISSION <br />DECEMBER 2, 2021 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />3 <br /> <br /> The foregoing motion was duly seconded by Ray. <br /> Ayes (6). Nays (0). Motion passed. <br /> <br />REPORTS FROM COMMISSIONERS <br />Commissioner Schletty commented that he took his daughter to Shoreview Commons, which is a <br />destination park, and he got a lot of ideas for activities and amenities for that type of large park. <br /> <br />Chair Miller thanked Commissioner Ray for his service on the Commission. <br /> <br />Commissioner Ray commented that he and his wife are excited for the opportunity to snowshoe <br />on the trails this winter. <br /> <br />Commissioner Chu stated that she has noticed that inside other community centers there are <br />things to entertain kids, like indoor playgrounds. She noted that those community centers are <br />well used. <br /> <br />Commissioner Abruzzese commented that she had her son on November 1st and hopes to get out <br />to the parks once he is a bit older. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hipp commented that she is also excited about the snowshoe opportunities. <br /> <br />UPDATES <br />The Recreation Coordinator provided details on the upcoming Cookies with Santa event this <br />weekend. <br /> <br />The Parks & Recreation Director noted that this will be walk through event because of COVID. <br />He stated that they are planning for 300 to 400 attendees. <br /> <br />The Recreation Coordinator provided an update on youth activities and upcoming adult <br />activities. <br /> <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:03 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />Amanda Staple <br />TimeSaver Off Site Secretarial, Inc. <br />
