We are requesting additional input from the Commission relating to the input <br />received as we prepare an update for City Council as part of their mid-July meeting. We would also seek <br />input from the Commission on perceived prioritization of potential improvements. <br />PIONEER PARK MASTER PLAN PHASE 1 PROGRESS: <br />We are pleased to report the following progress on several items relating to master planning efforts for <br />Pioneer Park. The following elements depict progress from the presentation to Parks & Recreation <br />Commission on July 1st. <br />•July 1 Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting: <br />o Bolton & Menk provided the Commission with an overview of the project schedule, <br />reviewed findings from the site observation walk through and requested input on <br />both high level and focused improvement opportunities. <br />o Concentrated discussion centered around the following focus elements: <br />playground area improvements <br />Potential water feature opportunities <br />Trail lighting considerations <br />•Public Input related to Park Improvement Concepts: <br />o A project website was created, and opportunities were extended to the public to <br />participate in an online survey and interactive website during the month of June. <br />o Comments centered around the focus topics from the July 1 Meeting: playground <br />improvements, potential water features, and trail lighting. <br />Desired elements for each will be presented at the Commission Meeting. <br />o Additional discussions have occurred between the City and Rainbow Tree Care <br />concerning the evaluation of the existing ash trees in the park, with subsequent <br />discussions with the City Council on action for ongoing maintenance of these <br />resources.
