Programming <br />12. Provide a system of high‐quality programs that meet the community’s evolving <br />needs and is an integral part of people’s active and healthy lives <br />12.1 Ensure athletic opportunities/team sports are available for all age groups <br />12.1.1 Monitor and match interest and offerings of athletics for all age groups <br /> Develop a polling system to determine needs/desires of community members for <br />athletics/sports <br /> Develop a formalized method for communicating with partner organizations to <br />determine overlaps or needs for offerings <br />12.2 Ensure access to non‐traditional recreation opportunities within and adjacent to the City <br />12.2.1 Provide special programming events/opportunities that encourage the exploration of <br />new forms of recreation <br />12.3 Adapt programming to busy lifestyles and make individual and family participation easy <br />12.3.1 Provide programming at different times of the year, week, and day. <br />13. Inspire life‐long learning, creativity and community service <br />13.1 Initiate, sponsor, and support city‐wide volunteer programs, events, and activities <br />13.2 Provide physical, artistic, environmental, and social programming designed for all age groups <br />13.2.1 Develop a wellness class that focuses on nutrition (gardening, cooking, etc.) <br />13.3 Partner with other agencies, or groups to provide physical, artistic, environmental, or social <br />activity opportunities <br />13.3.1 Work with Ramsey/Washington Metro Watershed District to provide an <br />environmental education event or program <br />13.3.2 Collaborate with Roseville Area Schools Community Education to host more programs <br />in Little Canada <br />13.3.3 Work with schools, cultural groups, and other organizations to host events in the parks <br /> Work with local food vendors/food trucks to bring refreshments and food into the <br />parks. <br />14. Provide programming designed for people of diverse age, race, ethnicity, ability, <br />gender, and economic status <br />14.1 Develop programming partnerships with diverse, unique groups and organizations to <br />provide opportunities that may otherwise be unavailable through the City of Little Canada. <br />14.2 Initiate and support concerts, festivals, cultural, and arts events that are designed for the <br />entire community <br /> <br />City of Little Canada 6‐24 Parks and Trails Plan
