MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
NOVEMBER 12, 2008
The Administrator indicated that given the lack of work and declining oil
prices, it should be a very competitive bidding process. The
Administrator anticipated that improvement hearings would be held in
January, but recommended that the City Engineer begin work on the
design given December given scheduling conflicts in order to expedite the
bidding process should the projects move forward. He noted that even if
the projects did not move forward in 2009, the streets are in poor condition
and would require reconstruction in the near future. Therefore, the design
work would still be applicable.
The Council agreed that the City Engineer should begin work on the
design. The date for improvement hearing would be set at an upcoming
meeting, and a survey will be sent to Lakeside Court property owners
relative to that project.
MOBILEHOME The City Administrator reviewed his report dated November 7, 2008
SWAP relative to the City's acquisition of the second unit (Lot C) of four
AGREEMENT - mobilehomes in Terrace Heights along County Road B-2 to facilitate
LISA WHITE the upgrade to the County Road B-2/Rice Street intersection, as well as the
swap agreement with the owner of this mobilehome to purchase the first
unit (formerly on Lot D, but relocated within the Park) that the City
acquired.
The City Administrator further noted that Lisa White's unit on Lot C is
being acquired via a voluntary sale, but noted that the equivalent of
relocation costs are being included in the purchase price. Once the
purchase is finalized and the mobilehomes swapped, Ms. White will owe
the City $5,800. The Lot C unit will likely be resold and moved off site.
The Administrator indicated that the closing should occur by the end of
the month.
Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2008-11-285 -APPROVING THE
MANUFACTURED HOME BUY/SELL AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE CITY AND LISA WHITE AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITYADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
