<br />grant funds since 2019. This includes funding for park equipment, CDBG <br />funds for sidewalk development, and DNR funding for park and open space <br />development. City staff will continue to pursue additional grant <br />opportunities as they become available. <br />▪ The overhead utility lines were moved to below ground as part of the Rice <br />Street / Highway 36 interchange project. It cleaned up the right-of-way and <br />brought enhanced visibility to commercial properties along the corridor. <br />Rice Street is scheduled to be reconstructed in 2026/7 starting from County <br />Road B2 and consideration should be given to burying the overhead lines <br />along the corridor once again. Since Rice Street is a border street the cost <br />can be split with the City of Roseville to lessen the financial impact. <br /> <br />o Bring in developers to review market demand and suggestions for development <br />▪ Staff has met with brokers and developers related to the Heinel property and <br />the Sculley property over the past 12-months. Staff is also in <br />communication with a broker about the vacant city-owned parcel between <br />US Bank and Culvers and an appraisal has been ordered. Additional <br />opportunities will be addressed on a case by case basis. Staff has also <br />initiated conversations with ULI-MN staff about conducting a Technical <br />Advisory Panel (TAP) and with Maxfield Research about conducting a <br />housing study for the city. <br /> <br />4) Mandating Action and Accountability <br />o Set calendar for special City Council meetings <br />▪ Hold regular City Council Workshops for updates on the Strategic Plan <br />progress. Additional special City Council meetings can be scheduled based <br />on specific projects or initiatives that warrant additional time.
