MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 1, 2008 <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2008-12-301- REQUESTING A VARIANCE FOR <br />ELI ROAD AND DESOTO STREET FROM MINNESOTA RULES <br />8820.9936 GEOMETRIC DESIGN STANDARDS, URBAN; NEW OR <br />RECONSTR UCTION PROJECTS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. <br />Ayes (3). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />LAKESIDE The City Administrator reported that the majority of surveys received <br />COURT from Lakeside Court residents oppose the street reconstruction and <br />restoration project recently presented to property owners at a <br />neighborhood meeting. The City Administrator recommended that the <br />Council proceed with the improvement hearing for this project given the <br />bidding climate. He noted that the project could be bid as an alternate. <br />Should bids be extremely favorable, the Administrator felt it beneficial to <br />the taxpayers as a whole to proceed with the project. If the bids are not as <br />advantageous as thought, the Council could decide not to proceed. <br />Allan asked about the level of assessments for this project. The City <br />Engineer indicated that he estimated the watermain would come in under <br />the City's assessment cap for watermain, and noted that the street <br />reconstruction would beheld at the 2008 assessment level. <br />The City Administrator asked that the City Engineer proceed with design <br />work for this project. The Council agreed. <br />ADJOURN Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008-12-302 -ADJOURNING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (3). <br />Nays (0).
