MINUTES CITY COUNCIL DECEMBER 22, 2008 HIRING The City Administrator recommended that with the loss of Pechman, LISA that Lisa Krieger be hired on a full-time basis. Krieger is currently KRIEGER working four days per week, so the full-time status means the addition ON A of one day plus benefits. The Adminisriator noted that with the loss of FULL-TIME Pechman and putting Krieger on full-time, there will still be a net BASIS reduction in front office staffing. Work is being done to reassign duties and assignments to ensure that service levels do not decrease. The Administrator stated that Krieger has done an excellent job for the City. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOL UTION NO. 2008-72-334 -AUTHORIZING THE HIRING OF LISA KRIEGER ON A FULL-TIME BASIS AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITYADMINISTRATOR The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Allan. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. CITY The City Administrator reported that Kris Pechman has submitted a NEWSLETTER quote to continue to produce the City's newsletter on a contracted basis. PRODUCTION Given the staffing changes just discussed, it was the Adminisriator's recommendation that this quote be accepted for 2009. The Administrator indicated that it would be his goal to bring newsletter production back in- house at some point in the future. He noted that based on the hourly rate quoted by Pechman, costs will be approximately $520 per issue. Keis asked about Web site administration. The Administrator indicated options are being considered for Web site administration. Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOL UTION NO.2008-72-335 -ACCEPTING THE QUOTE OF KRIS PECHMAN FOR NEWSLETTER PRODUCTION FOR THE YEAR 2009 AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. 27
