MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
DECEMBER 22, 2008
STREET The City Administrator presented a draft agreement with the City of
SWEEPER Falcon Heights for the joint purchase of a street sweeper. The
Administrator reported that the Little Canada City Attorney has reviewed
the agreement and had no changes. The Falcon Heights City Attorney has
recommended some minor changes.
The City Administrator recommended approval of the agreement, subject
to our City Attorney's review of Falcon Heights' changes. He noted that
the quote the City received for the street sweeper is below the State-
contract price. A price increase is proposed for the first of the year.
Therefore, to take advantage of the lower cost, the Administrator indicated
that he would like to expedite the purchase. The Administrator also noted
that he is checking into bidding regulations, given that this purchase was
not put out for bid. Even though the purchase price is below the State
contract price, it may be necessary to bid the equipment. The
Administrator reported that he will keep the Council informed as to the
details.
Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTIONNO. 2008-12-336 -APPROVING THE AGREEMENT
WITH THE CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS FOR JOINT PURCHASE
OFA STREET SWEEPER AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR SUBJECT TO THE CITYATTORNEY'S
APPROVAL OFANY CHANGES PROPOSED BY THE FALCON
HEIGHTS' CITYATTORNEY, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR
AND CITYADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
PLANNING The City Administrator reported that interviews of Planning Commission
COMMISSION applicants were held last evening, and he would like some additional time
APPOINTMENTS to evaluate applicants before he and the Planning Commission Chair make
a recommendation to the Council. The Administrator pointed out that
there is only one item slated for the January Planning Commission
meeting, and it may be possible to delay that item until February.
28
