CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />ORDINANCE NO. 866 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING LITTLE CANADA CITY CODE CHAPTER 1701, <br />TREE MANAGEMENT; NUISANCE, DISEASE AND INSECT CONTROL <br /> <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />ORDAINS: City Code Chapter 1701, Tree Management; Nuisance, Disease and Insect <br />Control, is repealed in its entirety and replaced as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. SUMMARY PUBLICATION. Pursuant to Minnesota Statutes Section <br />412.191, in the case of a lengthy ordinance, a summary may be published. While a copy <br />of the entire ordinance is available without cost at the office of the City Clerk, the <br />following summary is approved by the City Council and shall be published in lieu of <br />publishing the entire ordinance: <br /> <br />The purpose of this ordinance is to amend City Code Chapter 1701 relating to tree <br />management of nuisance dead, dying and diseased trees and tree insect control in <br />the City. The entire chapter has been replaced with updated language to also <br />address Emerald Ash Borer and Oak Wilt, along with Dutch Elm Disease and <br />other fungi or insects that may become an issue in the future. This ordinance also <br />gives the City authority to inspect trees on private property, require property <br />owners to remove identified trees or abate the tree and assess the costs to the <br />property. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective on August 13, 2022. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the City Council of Little Canada this 10th day of August, 2022. <br /> <br />CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />BY: John T.
