STAFF REPORT
TO:Parks & Recreation Commission
FROM:Bryce Shearen, CPRP, Parks & Recreation/Community Services Director
DATE:August 4, 2022
RE:Rondeau Park Updates
ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED:
None. Informational update to the Parks & Recreation Commission.
BACKGROUND:
The Rondeau Park Community Build was a great success. A huge thank you to all that
participated in various ways.
The new poured-in-place play surfacing contractor started work the week following the
community build. The contractor brought in rock for the sub-base and graded it to the
appropriate depth then began with rubber surfacing installation. The rubber surfacing was just
completed and it will need to cure for a few days before the final pieces of the playground are
installed.
After the final pieces have been installed on the playground, staff intends to remove the snow
fencing and allow park users to play on the new equipment. Staff will continue to work on
installing site new site amenities (bike racks, benches, etc.) and the new picnic shelter is
scheduled for installation at the end of August.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff would like to hear from the Commissioners that attended the Community Build and provide
any feedback they may have on the event.
