<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Keis and Members of City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Colleen Schoenecker, Utility Billing Clerk <br /> Lisa Krieger, Customer Service Specialist <br /> <br />REVIEWED: Sam Magureanu, Finance Director <br /> <br />DATE: October 26, 2022 <br /> <br />RE: Certify Unpaid Utilities and Unpaid False Alarms <br /> <br /> <br />ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED <br />Certify unpaid utility bills and false alarm fees to 2023 Ramsey County Property Taxes. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />Attached are the 2022 unpaid utility bills to be certified to the 2023 property taxes totaling <br />$92,177.30 and seven false alarms totaling $1,275.00. <br /> <br />Letters were mailed to 162 accounts totaling $121,844.11 on September 22, 2022. The letter <br />included payment assistance information, and city contact information for questions and <br />assistance. To date, 45 of these accounts paid the required balance to avoid certification. <br />It is proposed to certify the remaining 117 accounts totaling $92,177.30. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends Council approve certifying the attached list of unpaid utility bills and false <br />alarm fees to the payable 2023 Ramsey County property taxes. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
