MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />NOVEMBER 16, 2022 <br />The foregoing amended resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />APPROVE A GRANT CONTRACT WITH STATE OF MINNESOTA/COMMISSIONER OF <br />NATURAL RESOURCES FOR PIONEER PARK IMPROVEMENTS <br />The Parks & Rec/Community Services Director explained that the City received a grant for $300,000 <br />from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for the Pioneer Park improvements, and <br />the City will enter into a grant contract agreement with the DNR. He noted that the City will be <br />reimbursed by the DNR after construction costs are incurred. <br />Keis stated that the City has received a lot of grant funds to help support the park improvements that <br />have been done over the last few years, and will continue to look for more. <br />Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2 022-11-128 A UTHORIZE A $3 0 0, 000 GRANT CONTRACT WITH STA TE <br />OF MINNESOTA/COMMISSIONER OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR PIONEER PARK <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />The foregoing amended resolution was duly seconded by Torkelson. <br />Ayes (5). Resolution declared adopted. <br />2023 AGREEMENT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICES WITH RAMSEY COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT <br />The City Administrator explained that there are seven north -metro cities that contract with the Ramsey <br />County Sheriff's Department for police services. He stated that the contract for police services in <br />Little Canada is a significant portion of the City's budget at 42% of the General Fund. He reported the <br />2023 contract includes a 6.55% increase over the 2022 budget. He noted that the City Council directed <br />staff to enter into a one-year contract. <br />Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2 022-11-129 APPROVE THE 2023 AGREEMENT FOR LAW <br />ENFORCEMENT SERVICES WITH RAMSEY COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT <br />FOR SERVICES FROM JANUARY 1, 2023 TO DECEMBER 31, 2023 <br />The foregoing amended resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The Parks & Rec/Community Services Manager announced that the Cookies with Santa event will be <br />held on December 3, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Little Canada City Hall.
