Name:
Date:
Page:
Corrin Wendell
November 19, 2022
3

· All retaining walls 4’ or greater in height will require a building permit and must be designed by
a registered MN Professional Engineer. The retaining wall within Outlot A will be owned by the
City – provide basic information in the final plans: (product type, approximate lateral
reinforcement, a standard detail for wall construction showing free draining backfill, etc.).
Response: The developer has obtained a structural engineer for the retaining wall design work.
This design information will be forwarded to the City when available.
o Select a material/supplier from MnDOT’s prequalified list of Prefabricated Modular
Block Wall (PMBW) suppliers. https://www.dot.state.mn.us/products/walls/pmbw.html
▪ Shop drawing and product submittals shall be reviewed and approved by the
City Engineer. Response: See above.
· The retaining wall along the proposal roadway will require a guardrail
for vehicle fall-protection. The engineer certifying the retaining wall
should include analysis for any loads received by the guardrail and
possible negative effects to the retaining wall. Response: See above.
· Retaining wall foundation will be subject to standing or frozen water in
winter conditions. Include discussion in engineering review. Response:
See above.
▪ Watermain and sanitary sewer will not be allowed within the retaining
wall geogrid or reinforcement zone. Response: Noted. Depending on the
wall design, there may need to be some sewer/water adjustments to meet
this requirement.
o Retaining walls over 30” in height will require railings or fencing, Response: Linework and a
note have been added to the grading plan indicating that walls over 30” will require either
fencing or a railing.

Plan/Profile – Street (C2.1)
· Provide 25’ radii (minimum) at intersection with Edgerton Street. Response: Radii have been
adjusted as requested.
· Provide curb and gutter to Edgerton Street and terminate with beaver tails at end-radius.
Response: Added as requested.
· Curb and gutter should be style B618 from Edgerton Street through the proposed roadway
radius to approximately station 1+50 and should taper to style surmountable prior to the first
driveway. Response: Revised as requested.

Plan/Profile – San & Water (C2.2)
· Sanitary MH #2 will require an inside drop and 5’ diameter manhole. A standard detail can be
provided for inclusion in the plans. Response: A note has been added indicating that a 5-ft
diameter manhole is required. An inside drop is proposed. Details for the inside drop
(Reliner® Inside Drop Bowl) are included on Sheet C3.7.
· Watermain should be 8” diameter. Response: Revised as requested. Watermain reduces to 6” after
final service (approx. STA 4+40.)
