He announced their annual
ice fishing contest is coming back and will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023.
PRESENTATION — LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS ROSEVILLE AREA ADA
COMPLIANCE STUDY
Mary Peterson, member of the League of Women Voters Roseville Area explained that every few
years the League of Women Voters of Roseville Area conducts a different study involving their five
area cities (Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Maplewood and Roseville). In 2022, they
completed a study to assess the compliance level of the section of the American with Disabilities Act
(ADA) that guarantees access to public buildings and sites.
Mary Peterson, League of Women Voters Roseville Area, stated their study examined compliance
policy, administration and accessibility by residents who are mobility challenged to government
buildings, polling locations and city recreational venues such as parks and playgrounds. She explained
that the study consisted of contacting City Administrators, review of city documents and in -person site
visits, along with contacting the Ramsey County Elections Administrator. She stated they encourage
cities to include their recommendations when they plan and draft budgets. Keis asked how well Little
Canada did. Ms. Peterson stated that Little Canada did pretty well, and they are excited to see what the
city is doing in their parks for accessibility.
CONSENT AGENDA
McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO. 2022-11-132 —APPROVING THE CONSENT AGENDA -WHICH- -
CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING.
• Approval of the Vouchers
• Approve Designation of Little Canada Polling Places in 2023
• Approve Deposit and Investment of Local Public Funds for 2023
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Miller.
Ayes (5). He explained that the purpose of
sending the request out now was to be able to potentially capitalize on 2022 pricing and place an order
to be able to have the equipment onsite by the Summer of 2023 with the anticipated extended lead
times due to global supply -chain issues. He stated the playground equipment budget is $400,000,
which was donated by the Little Canada Recreation Association. He reported that specific criteria for
the playground had been identified in the Pioneer Park Master Plan from community and Parks & Rec
Commission input. He reported that seven vendors responded to the request and submitted 13
playground designs. He explained that after the designs were received, City staff held a neighborhood
meeting in October at the Montreal Court Apartments community room and an online survey was
available asking for the community's input on the playground design and color palette.
0
