MINUTES CITY COUNCIL DECEMBER 14, 2022 McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOL UTION NO. 2022-12-154 — APPOINT TAELOR JOHNSONAND KARI BOE- SCHMIDTZ TO 3-YEAR TERMS FROM 2023-2025, AND LEIF MASK UD TO FILL THE PARTIAL 2-YEAR FROM 2023-2024 ON THE PLANNING COMMISSION The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Miller. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. 2023 APPOINTMENTS TO THE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION & SELECTION OF THE 2023 CHAIR The City Clerk reported that the terms for Ron Horwath and Rose Chu will expire on December 31, 2022, and Dave Miller was elected to the City Council so he will be leaving the Parks Commission on December 31, 2022. She noted that there are two 3-year terms to fill and the remaining 1-year of Dave's term. She stated that Ron Horwath requested to be reappointed, and two new applications were received. She explained that all new Commission applicants are interviewed by a committee made up of two City Council members, the staff liaison and the Commission Chair. She stated that the interview committee was very impressed with all three of the candidates, and are recommending that Ron Horwath be reappointed to a 3-year term, Kate Williams be appointed to a 3-year term and Maggie DeLong Miller be appointed to fill the partial 1-year term. She noted that the Mayor will make a recommendation on the Chair appointment. The City Clerk stated that staff would like to thank Dave Miller for his 9 years of service on the Parks & Recreation Commission. Fischer introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOL UTION NO. 2 022-12-155 — APPOINT R ON HOR WA TH AND KA TE WILLIAMS TO 3-YEAR TERMS FROM 2 023-2 025 ON THE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION, AND APPOINT MA GGIE DEL ONG MILLER TO A 1-YEAR TERM IN 2023 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Miller. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOL UTION NO. 2 022-I2-156 — APPOINT R ON HOR WA TH TO BE THE PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION CHAIR IN2023 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Torkelson.
