MINUTES
Parks & Recreation Commission
November 6, 2008
OTHER BUSINESS:
Steinwall reported on the boat trip she took with the Watershed District personnel on the
Mississippi River. She had a very entertaining and fun-filled day.
Morelan commented on the upcoming flier for youth and adult activities. The soccer program is
finished and the winter gymnastics, hockey, basketball and skating are all in full swing. The 55
Alive Adult Driving classes are taking place this weekend and the beginning of next week. Little
Canada will again be a host site for registration for the Roseville Area Girl's Fast-Pitch Youth
Softball.
Morelan commented that annually we have 800-1000 youth registrations in our programs. The
Little Canada Recreation Association subsidizes about 20% of all the youth programs and also pays
for scholarship requests.
The January meeting date will have to changed as it currently lands on New Year's Day. It will be
rescheduled at our December meeting.
There was some discussion in changing the meeting time from 7:30 pm to either 6:30 pm or 7:00
pm. Morelan stated he thought it was set at 7:30 to be consistent with all the other city meetings.
Morelan also stated that replacement signage has been ordered and will be installed in November
for the following parks - Gilbeirtson Field, Pioneer Park on Desoto Street, Skate Board Park, and
Nadeau Park.
ADJOURN Upon motion by Neis, seconded by Fahey, the meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
~~~~~~~
Dotty Norgard
Recording Secretary
Page 4 of 4
