MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />December 4, 2008 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission of <br />the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on the 4th day of December, 2008, in the council <br />chambers of the city center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. <br />Chair Pam Davis asked for the consensus of the group if they wished to continue with the meeting, <br />unable to make any motions, as there was not a quorum present. The three commissioners agreed to <br />continue with the meeting. Chair Davis called the meeting to order at 7:45 p.m. and the following <br />members of the commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Pam Davis, Chair <br />Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Dotty Norgard, Recording Secretary <br />Mr. Jim Morelan, Park & Recreation Director <br />ABSENT: Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Ms. Clara Neis <br />Mr. Tom Maida <br />MINUTES: Chair Davis asked if there were any changes to the November meeting minutes. Hearing no changes <br />she tabled the motion to accept the minutes until the next meeting. <br />NEW <br />BUSINESS: PARK SYSTEM PLAN UPDATE- <br />Sanders showed the new cover of the Preliminary Draft of the Park System Plan. He also stated <br />that he added a description and area map of the NE section of Gervais Lake on page 3-35. He also <br />included the Skate Park on the 3-5 page showing the park listing. <br />Davis asked if anyone had any changes or corrections to the Plan. Morelan commented <br />that he had some minor changes and would give Sanders his copy to make the changes. Morelan <br />commented that Sanders had done a good job on the Plan and it reflects all the improvements that <br />have been discussed by the Park & Recreation Commission. Morelan also recommended the <br />area around the pond in the Blackturn Offce Park be included. <br />Sanders went on to explain there would probably be a joint workshop with the City Council and <br />Planning Commission to go over the overall city Comprehensive Plan. He noted that the city had <br />requested an extension to have the Plan completed by the end of January, 2009. <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
