MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 28, 2009
Administrator also noted that the Inman/Lancette property should be
highlighted as vacant residential property.
McGraw quested the 86 acres of vacant/underdeveloped land noted on
page 19. The Planner indicated that he will verify this calculation.
The Planner then reviewed the eleven (11) Planning Districts that are
identified in the Comp Plan, noting that these districts were created for
convenient/most logical grouping of areas of the City. The Planner
indicated that additional language will be added relative to redevelopment
opportunities within the districts. The Administrator suggested that
language be added to District 2 relative to the need to serve properties
within the district with roads and utilities. He suggested that District 4
include language relative to redevelopment of additional properties along
Round Lake into park land/open space. The Administrator also suggested
language be added to District 5 relative to the upgrades of the Rice
Sheet/County Road B intersection.
Blesener suggested that Goal #3 on page 38 of the Land Use Plan be
expanded to include the entire Rice Street coiTidor.
The Planner reviewed the Transportation section of the Comp Plan.
McGraw noted that there are no residential areas in TAZ 975, 976, or 977.
The Planner indicated that he would adjust the population numbers
accordingly. On page 52, it was suggested that reference to the Vadnais
Blvd. reconstruction be deleted as it is completed and the Rice Street
Bridge over Highway 36 be included.
The City Planner indicated that he has received engineering information
from the City Engineer that will be added to the Comp Plan. It was noted
that there are several areas of the engineering information that need
correcting, i.e. large volume users, water flows and forecasts, etc.
Blesener suggested that information relative to the Rice Street TAC Group
work on Rice Street upgrades be referenced in the Comp Plan.
There being no further business, the workshop meeting adjourned at 7:12
p.m.
William Blesener, ayor
Attest• ~ d~v~•~~x-~--~~°
Jo Hanson, City Administrator
