Supplement to Application Form
January 29, 2009
Directional Signs:
o We are proposing an increase from four (4) square feet for signage to six (6) square feet, to allow
adequate sized copy and information to be conveyed.
o Two (2) new directional signs are being proposed, one at the Employee Entrance and the other at the
Service Entrance.
Employee Entrance Sign:
This sign is intended to direct employees into the site along the west entrance and discourage visitors
from entering at this location.
o Sign location to conform to the Signage Setback but occur within the Drainage and Utility
Easement to allow adequate visibility on approach.
Service Entrance Sign:
This sign is intended to identify where building deliveries occur. The loading dock is not clearly visible
from CR B2 due to the topography, building orientation, and woodland. Clearly marking this entrance is
important to ensure delivery vehicles find the intended site entrance and avoid dangerous u-turns,
congestion, and large vehicles entering the other site entrances.
o Good sightlines on approach are required. Locating the sign as close as possible to road helps
increase it's visibility - preferably on the east side of the entrance drive.
o Drainage and Utility easements cover the majority of the area, requiring sign placement on
easement.
o Grades and natural features will be significantly impacted is signage is located behind setback
and would disrupt the continuity of the boulevard appearance along CR 62.
