MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 5, 2009
middle properties will be a long range goal and if all four properties are deemed to be
needed, we should formalize that position.
Sanders stated that there had been some discussion on having part of Spooner Park
turned back to a more natural state thus reducing mowing in the park and also planting
some rain gardens in the park area. The City Administrator commented that Eli Road
is on the 2009 street improvement schedule and may address some issues for this area.
Sanders stated there could be some natural vegetation planted on the east section of
the park to prevent the erosion problem. He will include the Little Canada Elementary
School in the Spooner Park section.
At 7:30 p.m. Mayor Blesener stated because of the time constraint with the regular
Park & Recreation Commission meeting this workshop should conclude. He
requested all in attendance to review the remaining portion of the Park Comp Plan and
email Sanders with any recommendations. He recommended approval by the Park &
Recreation Commission of the Park Comp Plan by their March 2009 meeting.
Blesener stated the total City Comprehensive Plan should be completed by May 2009.
Mayor Blesener and all council members commented on how well the preliminary
plan had been constructed by Sanders. Blesener stated he enjoys the colorful picture
of Gervais Mills Pond on the cover of the plan.
ADJOURN There being no further business, the workshop meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
William B1 er~~~_-
Attest: ~°~ °`" ,.,~,~
Joel ~~"s"on, City Administrator
4
