MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 10, 2009 <br />Blesener recommends that valves be installed in the homes connected to <br />City water at this time. In the future when a home connects, the City can <br />install the pressure-reducing valve at that time. <br />Montour asked if the City had any recourse with St. Paul Regional Water <br />or the contractors that worked on the water connection. The City <br />Administrator felt there was no recourse available to the City. <br />Brian Hanson, 791 Carla Lane, reported that his water heater was the <br />fourth one to blow in a week. He now has four inches of water in his <br />finished basement. The Administrator informed Hanson to submit his <br />claim to the City which will then be forwarded to the League of Minnesota <br />Cities Insm•ance Trust for review and processing. <br />The City Administrator indicated that the funding for the installation of <br />these valves will come from the Water & Sewer Capital Replacement <br />account. <br />Mr. McUraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2009-3-60 -APPROVING THE EXPENDITURE <br />OF UP TO $7,000 FOR INSTALLATION OF WATER PRESSURE- <br />REDUCTION VALVES IN CARLA LANE HOMES AS <br />RECOMMENDED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT <br />FOR THOSE PROPERTIES CONNECTED TO CITY WATER <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />TOBACCO The City Clerk reported that the Little Canada BP Station was recently <br />LICENSE - sold and the new owner has made application for a Tobacco License. <br />LITTLE Pending receipt of a satisfactory Sheriff's Department Background <br />CANADA Check, staff recommends approval of the License. <br />BP STATION <br />Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO.2009-3-61-APPROVINGA TOBACCO LICENSE <br />FOR THE INDEPENDENT VENTURES, LLC. DBA LITTLE <br />CANADA BP STATION, 300 LITTLE CANADA ROAD, AS <br />RECOMMENDED BY CITY STAFF <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0).
