MINUTES CITY COUNCIL APRIL 22, 2009 The City Planner reported that the Comprehensive Plan Update reflects the input of the Council, Planning Commission, and City staff over the last several months. He noted that the document does include both the Metropolitan Council's population estimated for Little Canada as well as the City's population estimates. The Planner indicated that while the Met Council has agreed that the City's revised numbers take precedent, their numbers are reflective of their Systems Statement. Met Council will be revising their Systems Statement, and asked that both sets of numbers be included in the Plan until that revision is made. The Planner suggested that the Met Council could raise Little Canada's population estimates again, and indicated that he will continue to monitor this. The Planner reported that the Comp Plan document has been submitted to sun•ounding jurisdictions for their comments. He reported that Maplewood has indicated they have no comment, Roseville has indicated that they are close to completing their review and will likely have no comments. Other jurisdictions have not yet been heard from. The Planner noted that the action before the Council this evening is to approve the Comprehensive Plan Update and authorize staff to submit the document to the Met Council for their review. Blesener stated that there were a few inconsistencies on the Zoning Map and some of the other maps throughout the document. The City Planner indicated that he would review the maps prior to submission to the Met Council. The Planner also pointed out that the Land Use Map reflects just that, and is not reflective of actual zoning classifications. There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on this matter Upon motion by Keis, seconded by Blesener, the public hearing was closed. It was noted that the Comprehensive Plan Update is on the City's web site and also available at the City Center for review. Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2009-4-89 -APPROVING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE AND AUTHORIZING STAFF TO PRESENT IT TO THE METROPOLITAN CO UNCIL FOR ADOPTION The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
