Written Survey Feedback Comments, Concerns, Suggestions • I think Labore needs a sidewalk at a minimum. I’m concerned for pedestrians - especially children walking/ waiting for the bus and how fast cars drive. In winter this is especially concerning and I’ve seen some close calls. • Consider other strategies to slow traffic speed • Speeds are increasing, sight lines by Ontario and Arcade are hampered with trees, hills, etc • Labore road is danferous and needs to be redesigned for safety for biking and walking • Would really like a sidewalk connecting the new Labore sidewalk to the Gervais Mill Park / firefighter trail entrance on Edgerton. That trail is a far more scenic travel corridor than the western section of Labore • Please lower the speed limit as well. 25 is a good limit. People drive way too fast. Would love a multi-use trail • Cost - how much do homeowners have to pay? • Cost • It would be great if somehow (since the walking trail crosses Labore) a loop back to the trail with a sidewalk was created but I don’t see how that could be possible • Leave as is! • Consider something around the lake like Como Park (making the street one way) • Walking surface should be flat, not sloped - particulary important as we age and are more prone to falls and joint issues • Will this work include doing the approach to my driveway if they cut in a sidewalk? Can I option to have my driveway done by the concrete company at my own cost? • Labore is 100% residential street (except public works building and Thunder Bay Park). It should accommodate community-building with safe place for everybody: kids, bikers, joggers, dog-walkers, mobility assisted folks, etc. • Who pays for it? Who shovels the snow? • Will be assessed a charge? If it goes on our side of the street, what happens to our (already) steep driveway? • I don’t like the way they did Edgerton sharing road • Stop sign at Edgerton is a problem area due to cars not stopping • I think a “lighted” (cellular) stop sign at Labore and Arcade would be useful • None • How will it affect my yard and driveway? • Another uncessary thing to do! Will cost millions and then need to be fixed/repaired often - more costs. Will only serve to make a construction company richer!
