<br /> <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Parks & Recreation Commission <br /> <br />FROM: Bryce Shearen, CPRP, Parks & Recreation/Community Services Director <br /> <br />DATE: October 6, 2022 <br /> <br />RE: Pioneer Park Improvements Update <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br />After the completion of the Pioneer Park Phase I Master Plan in 2021, staff worked on <br />incorporating Pioneer Park improvements into the 10-year CIP. The first priority projects were <br />originally planned for 2022, but with staff capacity and the Rondeau Park playground <br />improvements, the Pioneer Park play node was shifted to 2023 with staff utilizing 2022 to find <br />additional funding and complete some items to prepare for the upcoming construction in 2023. <br /> <br />Staff has met with Bolton & Menk several times in 2022 to refine the project, get updated <br />pricing, and finalize construction documents. The construction documents are almost completed <br />and will be ready to get bids this fall.
