A major goal of the Awards of Excellence program is to increase public
awareness and appreciation of the excellent parks, trails, and recreation services available in
Minnesota.
Staff shared in the award application the hard work that has gone into providing SNAP/EBT, and
the Power of Produce Club for the community, and how it has positively impacted both our
residents and Market Vendors. Staff would like to thank everyone that has been a part of the
SNAP/EBT process, the Minnesota Department of Health, North Node Consulting, the LCRA,
and the support from the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Parks and Recreation
Director to bring this program forward to the community. We are grateful for this award and
look forward to serving the community at the Farmers Market this year.
A public presentation of the award will be made this summer at a City Council meeting and the
project will also be highlighted in the fall issue of the MRPA member magazine.
Upcoming Activities
Spring and summer registration for Youth and Adult Activities is open.
