No action is requested. <br />BACKGROUND <br />Events <br />Ice Cream Social: Ice Cream Social: This year’s Ice Cream Social is August 3 from 6-8 PM at <br />the Spooner Park Amphitheater. We have an exciting line-up of entertainment for the night: <br />o 6:00 - 7:00 PM- LCFD Fire Truck <br />o 6:00 – 8:00 PM- Ice Cream from Culvers <br />o 6:15 - 6:45 PM- Live Music by the Jolly Pops <br />o 7:00 - 7:45 PM- A Ventriloquist performance <br />We will have various yard games, two balloon artists, two airbrush tattoo artists, a dunk tank, <br />and more during the entirety of the event. Bring your family, friends, and a lawn chair or blanket <br />to enjoy this free night of fun! <br />The Ice Cream Social is sponsored by the Little Canada Recreation Association (LCRA), <br />Culver’s of Little Canada, and the Little Canada Fire Department. Thank you, sponsors! <br />Movies in the Park: The City will be hosting Movies in the Park after the Ice Cream Social. <br />o The Super Mario Bros Movie will begin at approximately 9:10 PM (dusk). After <br />The Ice Cream Social head over to field 5 behind Little Canada Elementary for a <br />free movie for the whole family. Concessions will be available to purchase before <br />and during the movie. <br />Thank you to our Movies in the Park sponsor, Arko Companies. We appreciate your support! <br />Farmers Market: The Little Canada Farmers Market continues takes place Mondays, June 12- <br />October 9, from 2-6 PM at 2920 Rice Street. Staff has hosted three markets, which had an <br />average of 175 visitors. Staff heard many positive things about the Market and the variety of <br />vendors. <br />As a reminder, the Farmers Market accepts SNAP/EBT, and is continuing the Power of Produce, <br />which is a youth-focused program for ages 4-12. Each youth participant who signs up or checks <br />in will receive a $2 token which can be used to purchase fresh fruits or vegetables from our <br />vendors. Our goal with the Power of Produce is to encourage family participation at the market <br />and inspire youth to make healthy food choices. Thank you to the LCRA who is sponsoring the <br />Power of Produce this year.
