f.Food shall be stored in water-tight, rodent-proof containers <br />g.Dead chickens must be disposed of according to the Minnesota Board of Animal Health <br />h.Those seeking to raise chickens and or fowl must receive adjacent neighbor consent in <br />writing <br />COMMENT PERIOD <br />There will be a 45-day public comment period to allow residents to voice either their concerns or <br />in favor of the keeping and raising of chickens and or fowl on residential property within the City <br />of Little Canada. <br />NEXT STEPS <br />City staff will take in the discussion from the Planning Commission and incorporate it into the <br />process of developing the language and will return with finalized draft language at the September <br />14th meeting. It will then be seen by the City Council for final approval at their October 11th <br />meeting. <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />The City Staff recommend to the Planning Commission to discuss these options with the intent to <br />recommend approval to the City Council to be able to have keeping of chicken and or fowl to City <br />Code and the amendment of existing Code 1103.020 to remove the word “poultry”.
