MINUTES OF THE REGUi~AR MEETING <br />PARRS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />FEBRUARY 3, 1994 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of <br />the Parks & Recreation Commission of the City of Little <br />Canada, Minnesota was held on the 3rd day of February, 1994 <br />in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 East Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chairman Ken Wehrle chaired and called the meeting to order <br />at 7:30 p.m., and the following members of the Commission <br />were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Ms. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Ms. <br />Mr. <br />Ken Wehrle <br />Howard Remerowski <br />Karen Johnson <br />Larry Hartmann <br />Tom Holm (left 9:30 p.m.) <br />Berniece Magnuson (arrived 7:35 p.m.) <br />Jim Greger (arrived 7:37 p.m.) <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Ms. Kris VanSChoonhoven, Rec. Secretary <br />MINt1TES Remerowski recommended that the minutes of the January 6, <br />1994 meeting be approved as read. <br />Motion seconded by Johnson. <br />Motion carried 5 - 0. <br />•1`wIN LAKE Dan Herbst from the Pemtom Land Company, Len Pratt of <br />Dt;vF'LOP- Pratt Homes, and John Uban of Dahlgren, Shardlow, and Uban <br />Ml:N'1' were present to discuss the park charge for the Mitchell <br />property development on the north side of Twin Lake in <br />Little Canada. Herbst indicated that they have submitted <br />another plan to Vadnais Heights for the Mitchell property in <br />that City which contains 65 single family homes. He stated <br />that they met with Vadnais Heights' Park Commission and had <br />a public hearing last month with the Planning Commission in <br />which they received approval for their preliminary plat. <br />Herbst stated that their original submission to Vadnais <br />Heights and Little Canada was for private park land on the <br />east side of the Vadnais Heights property and in between <br />Little Canada and Vadnais Heights. <br />Herbst indicated that the developers feel the best use for <br />the property in Little Canada would be to build some type of <br />clustered housing to cut down on the amount of grading and <br />the amount of trees being removed. He stated that Vadnais <br />Heights wants a public park either on their site itself or <br />between the two properties. Herbst indicated that Vadnais <br />-1- <br />
