MINUTES <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />MARCH 3, 1994 <br />Sanders replied that one of the programs involves the use <br />of volunteers, and the other involves small business <br />participation. Sanders reported that the Park & Rec <br />Director is working with the Boy Scouts for their help in <br />spring tree planting. <br />Wehrle asked if any volunteer help was needed to maintain <br />the annual plantings in Pioneer Park, reporting that he <br />knows of a Girl Scout Troop that might be interested. <br />The Director reported that he will contact the <br />organization that does the flower planting in Pioneer <br />Park to determine if they are interested in doing it <br />again in 1994. If so, volunteers are needed for <br />maintenance. <br />GENERAL The Director reported that in putting together the <br />CAPITAL General Capital Improvement Budget there ended up to <br />IMPROVEMENT be a deficit in the year 1995. In order to help <br />BUDGET balance the Budget some adjustments were made. These <br />include a postponement of $2,500 of the $5,000 budgeted <br />in 1995 for Pioneer Park site amenities. Another change <br />in the document involves the breaking down of $40,000 <br />budgeted in 1996 for parking lot expansion in Pioneer <br />Park to $15,000 for temporary parking on the Centerville <br />Road side and $25,000 budgeted for permanent parking on <br />the Desoto Street side. <br />Remerowski noted that the Gervais Mill Park sign line <br />item should be "signs" as there are two signs proposed. <br />Wehrle recommended approval of the Parks & Recreation <br />General Capital Improvement Budget as submitted this <br />evening dated February 25, 1994. <br />Motion seconded by Johnson. <br />Motion carried 5 - 0. <br />10$ CAPITAL Remerowski asked why <br />IMPROVEMENT Improvement Budget. <br />BUDGET <br />Wehrle reported that <br />established, and the <br />not aggressively pur <br />there was a separate 10$ Capital <br />when the 10% CIP Fund was <br />Park and Recreation Commission did <br />aue 10% funds due to the donations <br />12 <br />
