This land is actively farmed and produces a livelihood and sole income for a father and son team, as well as their present and future families. Should a trail be forced on these produce farmers, in order to protect their incomes and futures, great costs for land acquisition and litigation would result, Also, should this trail become reality, it would divide this farmland in half and result in; vandalism to crops and the cost of those- crops, trail maintainence costs due to eroding tilled soil and the cost of acquiring additional equipment such as tractors and hydralic implement lifts in order to get farm equipment over sections of an asphalt trail:. These costs would excede what we believe this city and its residents would be willing to accept. 9. It has been stated by council members that we sometimes must sacrifice a few to benefit many.
