• The Structure for the planning process is detailed in another
section. It describes the process for appointing Planning Committees
and the criteria for membership of Committees. Committees will be
appointed to address each of 15 areas specifically identified in
Chapter 6 of the Charter.
• An Evaluation section lays out criteria and specific activities
to evaluate outcomes and the achievement of the goals of the project.
Planning is only a means to accomplish something on behalf of the
citizens of the County. Unless we evaluate the success of the project,
we cannot be certain that we achieved the intention of the Charter.
• Detailed Planning Steps to be taken by the Policy and
Planning Division to fulfill the goals of the project are identified in
another section. This sets out the major staff efforts to be
accomplished during the two year planning process.
Accomplishment of these steps will assist in keeping the project
focused and in establishing priorities for County staffs role in the
Strategic Planning Process.
• A final brief section is entitled Glossary and Footnotes.
This section serves as a source of quick reference for terms used in
the Strategic Planning Process and for sources of quotes used
throughout the document.
5
Page 21
~~~ __~
