2 <br /> <br /> <br />2. Any proclamation request that supports or opposes political campaigns or ballot measures; <br />3. Any proclamation request that is used to support solicitations of commerce; <br />4. Any proclamations requested by outside organizations or individuals in which the city has <br />no official interest, sponsorship, or relationship; <br />5. Proclamation requests outside the purview of the City of Little Canada’s governance. <br /> <br />PROCEDURE <br />Any proclamation request received must be submitted to the City of Little Canada Administration <br />Department for review. <br /> <br />The City Administrator or his designee has the authority to approve proclamation requests for <br />consideration by the City Council and place the request on an agenda as long as the request is <br />consistent with the following: <br />1. Meets the policy as outlined above; <br />2. If date sensitive, the proclamation has been received in a timely fashion, which allowed staff <br />the opportunity to review and appropriately prepare for the City Council agenda packet (no <br />fewer than two business days before an agenda publish date). <br /> <br />Approval <br />If a proclamation request is approved, the proclamation will be placed on an upcoming agenda for <br />City Council consideration. Additionally, the City Administrator or his designee will notify the <br />requesting parties of the date and time the City Council will consider the proclamation. <br /> <br />Denial <br />If a proclamation request is denied, the City Administrator or his designee will notify the requesting <br />parties of the denial in writing, with the City Proclamations Policies and Procedures attached for <br />reference. <br /> <br />The City of Little Canada reserves the right to refuse to allow proclamation requests that are in <br />conflict with the policy as outlined above. <br /> <br /> <br />DRAFT September 27, 2023 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
