WHY IS A STORMWATER UTILITY FUND NEEDED?
3
HOW MUCH FUNDING IS NEEDED?
•The City has historically paid for stormwater related expenses from its general
fund (tax levy). Ongoing and increased costs to maintain the stormwater
system have made this approach unsustainable. Little Canada is one of the
only cities remaining in the Twin Cities that have not yet gone to a
Stormwater Utility approach to provide funding for it’s stormwater
infrastructure.
•A minimum of $500,000 of annual revenue is needed to support the ongoing
costs to maintain the City’s stormwater system.
