Prepared by: Bolton & Menk, Inc. RECOMMENDATIONS
Labore Road Corridor Study ǀ 0N1.130034 Page 10

Exhibit 10 – Roadway Reconfiguration – Option 4 Rendering

Traffic Calming
Any of the recommended traffic calming measures could be implemented at any time as
funding becomes available. Roadway narrowing or curb bump-ins would be most cost-
effective when paired with a roadway pavement replacement project. Boulevard Tree
Planting would be best paired with Roadway Reconfiguration project so that the trees aren’t
impacted later by construction. Speed signs and speed limit reduction are measures that
could be considered at any time. Notably, the City has not administratively reduced speed
limits within the City at the time of this corridor study. Speed limit reduction is a broader
topic that warrants further policy-level discussion before any implementation would occur.
Labore Road and Arcade Street Intersection
An all-way stop at the Labore Road and Arcade Street intersection is recommended and
should be implemented as funding becomes available. Consideration should be given to
enhancing the stop signs with lighting or pavement marking. Adding stop signs at
intersections where they did not previously exist may lead can lead to accidental non-
compliance; an enhanced stop sign may help mitigate non-compliance concerns until new
driver patterns and behaviors are established.
