Round 1 Engagement: What We Heard
Engagement Summary: March - May 2023
>50
people attended the May
Open House
23
comments and 16 reactions
on INPUTiD map
115
submitted surveys
(print + digital)
590
website views
111
people have signed up to
receive emails
75%*
of respondents said they were extremely likely or very likely to use
new amenities (sidewalk, trail, bike lane) on Labore Road.
Common Survey Themes
81% of drivers use Labore Road daily.
60% of pedestrians use Labore Road daily or most days.
39% of bicyclists use Labore Road most days or weekly.
• Improve Safety: More stop signs (especially at Arcade and Labore), speed bumps and/or a lower speed limit.
• Increase Signage: More speed limit, weight limit and children at play signs.
• Reduce Traffic: Maintain residential feel of corridor by reducing commercial traffic.
• Enhance Connectivity: Connect new trail or sidewalk with existing trails in the area.
• Concerns: Cost to homeowners, impact on property (yards/driveways), winter maintenance.
What is your vision for the future of Labore Road?
Survey Feedback and Comments
• It would be great to have a sidewalk and bike trail available. My
primary reason for not using Labore is due to the lack of them.
• Safe separation of peds and cyclists from drivers, ideally protected
by curb or grade separation.
• Safe for pedestrians and bicyclists.
• A sidewalk would be excellent and helpful for safety.
• A sidewalk on at least the eastern section, preferably the entire
street, and a sidewalk connection to the firefighters trail along
Edgerton.
• Biking lane/sidewalk and lower speed limit or multi-use trail please!
• A route that would feel safe walking, running and cycling on.
• Slower traffic.
• Biking lane and sidewalk. People drive way too fast and there are a
lot of pedestrians, someone is going to be killed without a sidewalk.
• A piece of the plan for me is to age in place to a ripe old age.
Walking next to traffic is hazardous to a pedestrian - so I want a
sidewalk separate from the roadway.
• Just leave it the heck alone.
• Slow and pedestrian friendly.
• Safer for pedestrians.
• Off-grade sidewalks on both sides of the street for the whole length.
• Stop sign on Arcade and Labore!!!! Please.
• Reduced commercial traffic, reduced traffic speeds, safer for
pedestrians and cyclists.
• Slow down traffic, speed bumps - stop signs.
• Curbed off-road sidewalk (not wider shoulder).
• Sidewalk curb version.
• Create a sidewalk so someone doesn’t get hit by a car. Terrible
street for pedestrians.
• Safer for pedestrians, new surface.
• Leave the same.
• Safer road for my child and pets, less/slower vehicle traffic.
• Leave the same.
• Leave it as is!! Just pave/fix the road as needed.
• Need speed limit signs, people are speeding too fast, needs to be
safer.
* based on online and written surveys
