13 <br /> <br />City of Little Canada Personnel Policy <br />of hours worked in the preceding month, and subject to the criteria described above for regular <br />full-time employees. <br /> <br />E. Any regular non-exempt full-time employee, as well as regular part-time, working a minimum <br />of 20 hours per week on average projected over a calendar year based on anticipated demands <br />of the position, who is required to work on any of the above-named holidays, shall be paid for <br />each hour worked on the holiday at their regular rate of pay plus time and one/half. This rate of <br />pay includes the holiday pay referred to above. <br /> <br /> Examples: <br />• A full-time employee who is required to work 4 hours on a holiday would be paid for 4 <br />hours at 2 1/2 times their regular rate of pay and 4 hours at their regular rate of pay; <br />• A full-time employee working 8 hours on a holiday would be paid for 8 hours at 2 1/2 <br />times their regular rate of pay; <br />• A full-time employee working 10 hours on a holiday would be paid for 10 hours at 2 1/2 <br />times their regular rate of pay. <br /> <br />Should an exempt employee be required to work on a holiday due to an emergency situation, <br />that exempt employee will receive equal time off for time put in. <br /> <br />Funeral Leave <br />Paid time off may be granted, up to a maximum of three days, in the event a regular full-time or regular <br />part-time employee suffers a death in his or her immediate family in accordance with the provisions of <br />this section. Additional time off without pay will be granted as may reasonably be required under <br />individual circumstances, subject to the approval of the City Administrator. <br /> <br />Immediate family (for purposes of this section) is defined as an employee's spouse, parents, spouse's <br />parents, children, step-children, brothers and sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, grandparents, <br />grandparents-in-law, grandchild, and spouse's grandchild. <br /> <br />Jury and Witness Duty <br />A. Regular full-time and regular part-time employees, working a minimum of 20 hours per week <br />on average projected over a calendar year based on anticipated demands of the position, shall be <br />granted paid leaves of absence for required jury duty. Such employees shall receive that portion <br />of their regular compensation that will, with their jury pay, equal their total compensation for <br />the same period. The time spent on jury duty shall not be counted as time worked in computing <br />overtime. Employees excused or released from jury duty during their regular working hours <br />shall report to their regular work duties as soon as possible. <br /> <br />B. Employees shall notify their supervisor in writing as soon as possible after receiving notice to <br />report for jury duty. The employee will be responsible for ensuring that a report of time spent <br />on jury duty and pay form is completed by the Clerk of Court each day so the City will be able <br />to determine the amount of compensation due for the period involved. <br /> <br />C. Employees will be compensated by the City to testify in Court only on City-related business.
